Today Is Energy Efficiency Day
[The Easiest Way to Save Is Your Lighting]
After serving in the U.S. Marine Corps, I worked for a defense contractor that asked us to find ways to save energy.

It didn’t take a rocket scientist to spot — high-wattage lights on for hours, a hangar door open to the outside that put a strain on HVAC, and other common practices that sent money right out the door.

I set out to learn everything I could about LED lighting, and that formed the heart of what became Veteran LED Lighting and Energy Design.

Our team walks the energy efficiency walk every day. But it’s always good to step back and think about why we do what we do. We join our colleagues and industry leaders in marking Oct. 7 as Energy Efficiency Day.

You may want to tune into this virtual roundtable, “Energy Efficiency in the Time of COVID-19: How It Supports Recovery.” Or check out this online conversation, “Fireside Chat: The Importance of Leveraging Public-Private Relationships to Champion EE Projects in Cities.”

In case you missed our inaugural Energy Sense Podcast a year ago, here’s how we started. My first topic was, “How to Succeed as an Energy Efficiency Entrepreneur and Why the Industry Matters.” Click here to listen.
